De Beers Association Football Club ("De Beers AFC", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit debeersafc.com or interact with us as a player or member.

1. Information we collect

Website visitors: We use Google Analytics 4 and Amplitude to understand how visitors use our site. These tools collect anonymised data such as your approximate location (country/city), device type, browser, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other identifying details from general visitors.

Members and players: When you register to play or enquire about joining the club, we collect the information you provide on the application form (name, ID/passport, date of birth, contact details, parent/guardian details for minors, and SAFA-required documents). This information is used solely for club registration, team selection, SAFA affiliation, and communication.

2. Cookies

Our analytics providers set cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits. You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from using the site.

3. How we use the information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
• To register players with SAFA and the relevant leagues.
• To communicate match information, fixtures, fees, and club news.
• To respond to enquiries received via email or WhatsApp.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share registration details only with SAFA and the leagues we are affiliated to, as required for player registration. Anonymised analytics data is processed by Google and Amplitude under their respective privacy policies.

5. Data retention

Member and player records are retained for as long as required by SAFA and South African law. Analytics data is retained according to the default settings of our analytics providers.

6. Your rights (POPIA)

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction, and to request deletion (subject to SAFA retention requirements). Email admin@debeersafc.co.za to make a request.

7. Children's information

Many of our players are under 18. Junior application forms must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
